Vinada Sparkling Chardonnay Taste

Vinada Sparkling Chardonnay is a fruity and medium-dry sparkling wine. It has a dry and crisp profile with a hint of sweetness before ending with an acidic bite.

There are exclusively French Chardonnay grapes from the Languedoc region used to create the Sparkling Chardonnay, which means in each glass you are going to be treated to:

  • apple and rockmelon notes;
  • hints of sweetness;
  • a snap of acidity; and
  • a crisp dry finish.

All of this creates a brilliantly crisp, pale gold coloured and “more dry than sweet” sparkling. It comes complete with a creamy mouthfeel from the vibrant bubbles streaming to the surface of your glass.

Given I enjoy drier sparkling wines, and the Vinada Chardonnay hits all the right notes! The hints of sweetness come from vibrant fruits and add some great complexity and flavour to the sparkling.

What Vinada have managed to achieve with their non-alcoholic Sparkling Chardonnay, is nothing short of truly remarkable achievement for a traditional sparkling wine, let alone a non-alcoholic sparkling wine!

Vinada Sparkling Review rear of bottle

Looking at the Vinada in the context of over 20 other non-alcoholic wines, my research piece into sugar and calories in non-alcoholic wine shows that the Vinada is exactly average with 4 grams of sugar per 100ml.

This compares to other options such as the:

  1. Oddbird Sparkling at 5 grams and 22 calories per 100ml; and
  2. Noughty at 2.9 grams of sugar and 14 calories per 100ml.

Would I enjoy Vinada Sparkling Chardonnay?

As a general rule, if you enjoy a dry sparkling wine, a vibrant fruity profile of flavours of apple and melon you are going to find a non-alcoholic sparkling wine that will instantly become your new favourite and ‘go-to’.

Normally I would look to compare the Vinada to other similar options. However, in this case, I’m putting it out there on its own. This is the sparkling that other non-alcoholic sparkling wines will be compared to.

Going forward (at least currently), the Vinada is the benchmark.

If you’re looking for a different flavour profile Vinada also offer two other options:

  • Vinada Airen Gold (Rating: 9/10 – a bolder, rounder flavour profile with a nudge of sweetness); and
  • Vinada Sparkling Rose (Rating: 8/10 – Rose, with bubbles and a very, very good option for those summer afternoons)!

The Round Up: Final Thoughts

As you have probably gathered, I am a huge fan of all the work the Vinada Wine team are doing and how they have managed to extract so much depth, flavour and complexity out of each of their wines.

The Crispy Chardonnay highlights all that is right with the non-alcoholic movement and what can be achieved when a company looks to create top end wines with the end drinking experience in mind.

With its bright fruity notes that are brought to life by a punchy acidic zing being the star of the show and all wrapped up and pulled together with a deliciously crispy finish. The Vinada Crispy Chardonnay gets a thoroughly well-deserved 9.5/10 from me.

I cannot wait to see what this set of Dutch winemakers have in store next, as they are truly taking what we all thought was possible from a non-alcoholic wine and transforming it, along with the entire non-alcoholic wine landscape for the better.
