How did Thomson and Scott begin?
Thomson & Scott aren’t new to the game, they have been playing in the drinks space since coming to life in 2013. In the early years, the company was focused on its mission to develop and sell its top-quality vegan prosecco.
In its early years, Thomson & Scott sold their prosecco into a wide range of restaurants, hotels, bars and retailers. As we all know, 2019 arrived, and with it – the pandemic. One almighty pivot later, Thomson & Scott became one of the newest and most exciting players in the production of alcohol-free sparkling.
The Thomson & Scott team are driving the global shift to alcohol-free drinking by producing wines that are:
- organic and non-alcoholic / zero alcohol; and
- Halal certified.
Certified B-Corp and socially aware.
As a dedicated and certified B-Corp company, they are dedicated to developing an alternative to traditional alcoholic drinks and do so in the most sustainable way possible. Due to their B-Corp status, the founders of the Noughty sparkling wine are subject to rigorous social and environmental standards which require a range of commitments to goals outside of attaining shareholder profit.
Who founded Thomson and Scott.
The company was founded by Amanda Thomson, who – as we touched on above – began with a vision of bringing vegan Processco to the glasses of drinkers the world over.
Amanda picked up her roots leaving a BBC based journalism role after which set planted herself firmly in the world of wine. Completing her study at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris where she completed a diploma studying wine.
What products do they produce?
The Thomson and Scott Noughty range, at present, is complete with two sparkling wines:
- a rosé, produced from a blend of grapes; and
- a white produced from 100% Chardonnay grapes.
The flagship of the winery is the Noughty Chardonnay, and while dealcoholized – it maintains all the aromatics and overall complexity associated with sparklings of its kind.
The wines produced by T&S also proudly boast the credentials of being:
- organic;
- vegan;
- non-alcoholic;
- low in sugar; and
- low in calories.
